Mill City Museum

Minneapolis, Minnesota - Pen and Ink - 2004

Opened in 2003, Mill City Museum overlooks the Mississippi River and St. Anthony Falls from its location in the heart of downtown Minneapolis’ historic Mill District neighborhood. Built within the limestone ruins of the former ‘Washburn A Mill’, the museum tells the fascinating story of Minneapolis’ birth alongside the Mississippi’s only waterfalls and how the young city soon became the ‘Flour Milling Capital of the World’. Flour fueled the growth of Minnesota’s largest city and the north-central region of the United States over a century ago while today, Minneapolis’ corporations, robust commercial sector and many attractions drive this ever-growing economic powerhouse.
